Teaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is simple: identify the real cause, simplify the solution, and give you a clear plan to improve. I work with golfers of all skill levels, from beginners to competitive players, using video analysis, biomechanics, ball-flight data, and personalized drills to help you understand your swing without overcomplicating it. My teaching is built around three key concepts: Homebase → Sequence → Tempo. We’ll focus on the changes that have the biggest impact on your ball striking, consistency, and scoring rather than chasing positions or giving you five swing thoughts at once. (Homebase is your grip, setup, alignment and routine.) With online coaching, you’ll receive clear video feedback, specific priorities, personalized drills, and a practice plan you can actually follow. Whether your goal is to eliminate a slice, compress your irons, gain distance, improve your short game, or simply play more consistent golf, we’ll build a plan around your swing, your body, and your goals.
About the coach
I'm a Certified 2 Star PGA Class Professional specialized in instruction and full-time golf instructor based in Florida. I currently serve as Director of Instruction at Countryside Country Club in Clearwater, coach at SimGym Golf in Sarasota, and operate the Noah Vinyard Golf Academy online, where I connect with and coach golfers through social media and remote instruction.
Originally from Alton, Illinois, just outside of St. Louis, I grew up as a competitive athlete in baseball, bowling and golf. Golf eventually became my primary focus, and I went on to graduate from Arizona State University in 2004 with a degree in Agricultural Business and Professional Golf Management.
After competing extensively as a junior golfer, I continued playing competitively after college, including the Pepsi Tour and numerous mini-tour events through 2006. That competitive background continues to shape the way I coach today—I understand both the technical side of developing a golf swing and the challenge of taking that swing from the practice tee to the golf course under pressure.
In 2006, I transitioned into teaching full-time and have since worked with golfers across every level of the game—from beginners and recreational players to competitive juniors, collegiate golfers and professional players.
Today, my coaching combines more than 20 years of full-time teaching experience with modern video analysis, biomechanics, technology and personalized practice plans. I've trained under several hall of fame instructors (Jim Mclean, Mike Adams, Mike Bender, David Leadbetter, Jim Hardy and Sean Foley). Whether I’m coaching a player in person or remotely, my goal is the same: simplify the game, identify what matters most, and give every golfer a clear path toward better golf.
